Billy & Louie are pop-soul twin singer songwriters,  heavily inspired by classic blues, soul and jazz sounds which they incorporate into their own material to create a unique blend of modern and old. They have been recognised and commended by celebrities and singers through social media and have reached success through their social media platforms too.

 

They have performed in many different venues and competed in different competitions around the country including Junior Star Singer Songwriter - a national radio competition, which they won for the best group performance category in 2017. 

 

Since then, a host of incredible opportunities have arisen for them. In 2018 they performed at the Marlborough Rising festival and the Avebury Rocks festival the year before and towards the end of 2018 they were delighted to receive the fantastic opportunity to be a warm up act for previous X Factor finalist Jahméne Douglas’s concert, which was incredible! They were also delighted to sing at Swindon Pride in 2019, launching and performing their debut single ‘Changed’ on the main stage. That summer they also sang in the same lineup as Years and Years, Beccy Hill, Ella Eyre and Harvey at the MFor festival. They also supported Aston Merrygold, former member of JLS, at the Swindon Christmas light switch on where they sang some Christmas classics including their own Christmas song ‘My Christmas Dream’ to an estimated audience of 14,000 people, accompanied by their three dancers. Billy & Louie have also made a few appearances on national radio and TV, speaking and singing live on BBC Radio Wiltshire and promoting their single ‘Changed’ on the Chrissy B show.

 

In all of their live shows, they create a varied setlist of covers and original material. They sing a range of genres from soul, blues, jazz and pop and occasionally other genres like country and swing and they sing their original releases as well. They create unique arrangements of the covers they perform, adapting and altering them to suit their voices and their twin dynamic.

 

Over the past few years, Billy & Louie have gained feedback and recognition from celebrities on social media. In February of 2019, they were retweeted by Linda Perry, writer and former member of the 4 Non-Blondes who commended them for their cover of Beautiful by Christina Aguilera which Perry wrote and produced. A few months later, their cover of ‘Ain’t no other man’ was liked on Instagram by Christina Aguilera herself. They have gained further success on other platforms such as Tik Tok where their first video reached 173,000 views and as a result, they gained a follow from American singer Meghan Trainor. Their cover of Fall on me was also shared on Instagram by A Great Big World - the writers and singers of the song.

 

Billy & Louie are very passionate about songwriting and have been producing and releasing their songs over the last year. Their first single “Changed” is a soulful pop song with hints of Gospel and R&B and was released on all digital platforms in August 2019. They collaborated with an incredible producer to create the distinctive, gritty sound as well as producing elements themselves. They have since released their Christmas single ‘My Christmas Dream’ which fuses the traditional sounds of Christmas music with a modern sound. Their latest single ‘Like the river’ was written in 2017 but since then has changed and evolved into a modern-sounding ballad, making the harmony the key feature of the song as well as the powerful key change. They plan to release many more songs this year and collaborate with other artists as well as produce them themselves.
